The Opioid Awareness Foundation was founded by Michael A. King, Jr. and “Mahvrick” Richard Victor Mahee founder of ARG Media who are both committed to the development of innovative educational efforts focused on the prevention and rehabilitation of opioid addiction, and assisting in educating families on the epidemic.
What makes Opioid Awareness Foundation unique is our focus and dedication to awareness on a national level, leveraging all platforms of media and events to bring an end to the opioid crisis in America.
As stated by Victoria’s Voice Foundation, another outstanding organization in the fight:
In 2014, more than 47,000 Americans died from an overdose, driven by a surge in prescription painkiller (opioid) and heroin abuse. Since 2000, the overdose death rate from opioids has increased a staggering 200 percent. Another way to think about it? Almost 130 people die every single day from a drug overdose. It’s a national crisis.
The Opioid Awareness Foundation was proud to be a beneficiary of the 5th Annual City Summit & Gala that helped bring awareness and funding for our work.
Opioid Awareness Foundation was founded by Michael A. King, Jr. and is a program of International Arts & Philanthropy Foundation, Inc. – an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (EIN#: 47-5031819).
